First Year Resident (PGY-1):  13 4-Week Rotations


Ambulatory Continuity Clinic
Each resident follows a panel of patients as the primary care physician for three years.  Clinic is one-half day per week.

Ambulatory Continuity Clinic
Each second-year resident continues to follows a panel of patients as the primary care physician.  Clinic is one-half day per week for the first half of the training year and increasing to two-half day days a week with the 7th rotation.

Third Year Resident (PGY-3)


Ambulatory Continuity Clinic
Each third-year residents continue to follow a panel of patients as the primary care physician.  Clinics are two one-half days per week.

Monthly Schedule
Monthly schedules are published by the Departmental office for floor assignments, elective rotations, conferences and Medical Grand Rounds.

Daily Schedule
The day begins at 6:30 a.m. with Sign-In until 4:30 p.m. with Sign-Out Rounds Monday through Friday.

Weekends & holiday schedule
The day begins at 7:00 a.m. with Sign-In  until 12 Noon Sign-Out Rounds.  If a resident has patients whose care requires attention beyond this period of duty, they should remain on duty until the patient may be left in the care of a covering resident physician.  On Sundays and holidays the post-call team and the on-call team write notes on all service patients. Each team must round on their team patients on weekend mornings.
